I recently had the privilege of photographing Nadia Barry, a North Kitsap High School senior, during her spring senior photoshoot at Point No Point Lighthouse Beach in Kitsap County. While many seniors book their main portrait session in the summer or fall, adding a second shoot in the spring with your cap and gown is an incredible way to celebrate the final milestone of senior year.
These sessions feel different—there’s an extra layer of excitement and accomplishment now that graduation is here. A spring cap and gown photoshoot gives families timeless images for announcements, celebrations, and keepsakes while documenting a chapter that will never come again.
Nadia’s session was not only about honoring her senior year; it celebrated her extraordinary achievements—graduating from North Kitsap High School and Olympic College at the same time! She’s now preparing for her next big adventure: heading to Montana State University in Bozeman this fall to study engineering. The blooming wildflowers along the beach paired with her dual gowns created a setting that felt authentic, nostalgic, and vibrant—perfect for marking the end of one journey and the beginning of another.

Why Book a Spring Cap and Gown Session?
Senior year goes by fast, and the cap and gown marks the finish line. Most seniors book their main session in the fall, but those photos typically don’t include their cap and gown—leaving families with only quick iphone snapshots of one of the most important milestones. A spring session ensures this chapter is captured beautifully and professionally. Here’s why it’s worth it:
Enjoy vibrant, fresh backdrops that outshine fall colors. Spring brings lush greenery, blooming wildflowers, and softer light—perfect for creating bright, polished images that feel full of life.
Showcase the cap and gown in timeless, professional images, not just iPhone photos
Create polished portraits for graduation announcements, family walls, and celebration parties
Add variety to your senior gallery if your fall session focused on casual or seasonal looks
Document this milestone when the excitement feels real, just before graduation
Give parents and grandparents meaningful keepsakes that will be cherished for decades
These portraits tell the complete story of senior year—from the personality-filled fall session to the iconic graduation look. Don’t settle for iphone photos when you can have images that truly celebrate this once-in-a-lifetime moment.
Your senior only wears their cap and gown a few times in life—make sure this moment is captured beautifully. Book your spring cap and gown session today!
