Graduation Photos
Congratulations! You're graduating from the University of Colorado Boulder! It's time to celebrate!
This isn’t just about a cap and gown.
It’s about the climb. The moments in between. The late nights, the bold choices, the quiet growth, and the real version of you that made it here.
I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all grad photos. You won’t be asked to fake a smile or stand in a stiff pose that doesn’t feel right. What you will get is a photo session is an experience filled with smiles and laughs that feels warm and authentic - something that you'll be able to look back and smile and feel flooded with warmth and nostalgia.
Whether we’re on campus, in the Flatirons, a crag up Boulder Canyon, or tucked away at the top of Flagstaff, your session will be intentional, relaxed, and all about telling your story with honesty and feeling.
These aren’t just graduation portraits. They’re images that will remind you what this season of your life felt like—for real.

When and where should we take photos? When? I schedule my photoshoots around sunrise and sunset. Be prepared to meet up for a shoot 15-30 minutes before sunrise for morning shoots and around 1-2 hours before sunset for evening shoots. Where? There is no best location to take grad photos in Boulder. The most popular spots to take grad photos are Chautauqua Park or on CU's campus at locations like Farrand Field, the field behind LEEDS School of Business, and Norlin Library. They are all so beautiful and really capture the essence of Boulder! If you're looking for something different, here are some other ideas for grad photo locations in Boulder: Varsity Lake (northwest corner of main campus), Lost Gulch Lookout on the top of Flagstaff, Wonderland Lake Trail, Red Rocks Park (the one at the mouth of Boulder Canyon), NCAR station, or somewhere else you love! Eyeballing a location outside of Boulder for your grad photos? Nederland, Rocky National Park, Denver, or maybe even Summit County? I'd love to go on an adventure with you! Please note that there are additional travel fees for shoots outside of the Boulder area.

What should I wear to our photo session?Wear what feels true to you! Be prepared to have a variety of shots with your outfit- some with the cap and gown, others without! Many of my gals wear white dresses with heels or boots, and my guys typically wear dress clothes. There are so many outfit inspo pics to pull from on Pinterest- I am happy to help curate a Pinterest board with you and chat about outfits and hair! If your session allows for multiple outfits, I love to do one formal outfit and the another that reflects what you love- think fly fishing gear in Boulder Creek, dipping your hands in a chalk bag and sending a project in your cap and gown up Boulder Canyon, an earth-toned flowy dress, coordinating outfits with a special person, or wearing paint-covered overalls while painting live on an easel under the flatirons.
-
What should I bring to our session?I will send you over a detailed check-list of what to bring to our shoot after you secure your spot. I always recommend bringing a bottle of champagne and an extra pair of comfortable shoes. Be prepared to walk across parts of campus and up Chautauqua- trust me, it's not fun to do in your gorgeous heels.
-
What if there's bad weather? If there is rain in the forecast, we can reschedule to another date, no additional fees. In the case of unexpected weather during our session, we will ride it out. Wind creates beautiful wind-swept hair and make flowy dresses all the more magical. We are going to get some beautiful shots rain or shine, trust me.
-
I have a very specific vision for my photos - can I share it with you?YES! I love it when you have a specific vision for how you want your photos to turn out - the editing, the posing, the location, the outfits, I love to hear all of it! You are putting a lot of trust into me by choosing me to be your photographer, and I don't take that lightly! If you prefer your photos to be edited light and airy or a bit more dark and moody, I am happy to accommodate you as long as it stays within the range of my style, which you can get a sense for by viewing my portfolio. In general, I love to edit my photos to feel warm, nostalgic, authentic, and timeless in a way that fills your heart with warm and fuzzy feelings. I encourage my clients to send me a mood board on Pinterest and point out any must-do poses or locations. If you don't have a specific vision or poses, don't worry! All you need to do is show up and I'll make the magic happen!

Can I bring a friend or a family member to my shoot?I am more than happy to welcome a friend or a family member behind-the-camera! Your support system is so important and it is so special to bring them along to celebrate your achievement with you! Typically it's about a 60/40 split whether my client comes to a shoot solo (60% of the time) or chooses to have a loved one tag along (40% of the time). If you would like to share your session with friends or a partner, I would absolutely love to have them join in on the fun! There's something so special about capturing and sharing such a big milestone with your loved ones! An additional $125 per person joining in on the shoot will be charged on top of your session. Shoot duration and deliverables remain the same as listed on your selected package unless we come to a pre-arranged agreement prior to our shoot. Split among a larger group, the whole crew can get grad photos at a more affordable rate.
